Beginning Backpacking on the Appalachian Trail in Western Maryland
Monday, July 20 - Friday, July 24
Learn backpacking skills on the Appalachian Trail across South Mountain in western Maryland, where we enjoy long views from beautiful rock outcroppings. We will hike 4-6 miles each day over moderate terrain--doable by anyone in average physical condition.
Cost: $549 The price includes food, supplies, lodging and parking fees, and all specialized gear except backpack; does not include transportation to the meeting point in western Maryland. $100 deposit due with registration; full payment or balance is due 30 days prior to trip start date. Registration closes 30 days prior to trip start date.

Learn backpacking skills on the Appalachian Trail in the hills of western Virginia, where we enjoy long views and beautiful woods. We will hike ~4 miles most days (one longer day) over easy terrain--if you think of yourself as a couch potato, this is the trip for you!

Learn backpacking skills while hiking the Appalachian Trail across the high-elevation balds of the Roan Highlands in eastern Tennessee. These balds offer long views and rolling grassy hillsides. We will hike ~6 miles each day over moderate terrain--doable for anyone in average physical condition.
Cost: $549 The price includes food, supplies, lodging and parking fees, and all specialized gear except backpack and personal-use gear; does not include transportation to the meeting point in eastern Tennessee. $100 deposit due with registration; full payment or balance is due 30 days prior to trip start date.
